When you look in the mirror what do you see? Are you like a little child admiring all the different angles of your reflection? Or does looking in the mirror make you cringe? Do you see all of your defects and imperfections? How do we go from loving to look at our reflection as children to cringing and finding all sorts of things we don't like about ourselves?
Yes, we change physically through the years but it is also our life experiences that change and I believe many of us do not work on the anger and pain we have accumulated. We do not spend the proper time doing the internal work needed to forgive another or/and ourselves. This causes us to carry less than love and happiness in our hearts creating a bitter shell on the outside. Some of us see yesterday's mistakes. The stress we passed the other day, the painful things we said to that person, the taxes we have yet to pay, the lack of patience we had the day before. Now how can you see beauty when you see all of that?
Beauty is from within, how many times have you heard that expression? I think we all deserve to love looking at our reflection, so remember this the next time you are looking in the mirror. Pay attention, what are you really looking at?
